Larry K. Mays, age 65, died of natural causes on Monday August 16th 2021 at his residence in Independence, MO. Larry was born March 25th 1956 in Sallisaw, OK to George Mays and Pauline (Payne) Mays.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 31 years Gloria Jean (Hulse) Mays of Independence, MO; his parents George and Pauline Mays of Stillwell, OK; two brothers, Dwight Mays of Gerard, KS and Dwaine Mays of Antlers, OK; two sisters, Hewlett Isaacs of Stillwell, OK and Wanna Jean, stillborn in 1955, two nephews and many aunts, uncles, cousins, distant relatives and friends.
Larry is survived by four daughters, Kristina Jemes of Independence, MO; Angela Mays of Orrick, MO; Leslie Williams of Lenexa, KS; and Rebecca Miller of Kansas City, MO; thirteen grandchildren; Amber King, Crystal King, Robert Miller, Taylor Miller, Philip Miller, Jordan Williams, Joshua Poulin, Devin Knobloch, Heaven Grooms, George Scofield, Andrew Tofaeono, Ni’Ke Tofaeono and Jonathan Beaton; 6 great grandchildren; one brother Tom Mays of Houston, TX; two sisters Verlia Leatherwood of Stillwell, OK and Carline Morrison of Kansas City, MO and many distant relatives and family.
Larry will be cremated and his ashes will be laid to rest at the family home where he will be joined with his wife once again in their memorial garden. Services will be held Saturday September 25th 2021 at 2:00 pm to allow the family time for preparation.
