Louise L. Williams, 91, passed away on January 8, 2022. She was born on March 19, 1930, in St. Edward, Nebraska to Robert Walter Horn and Ada Gertrude (Kane) Horn. Louise was one of seven siblings (Don, Dale, Jim, Kenneth, Lola, Baby Ruby and step siblings, Alvin, Eileen and Helen).
Louise was raised in Kansas City and graduated from Northeast High School.
In 1949 she married Ben R. Williams whom she had met working as a waitress at the Forum Cafeteria. Ben and Louise had one daughter, Denise Lou (Williams) Cooper.
She retired from the Gas Service Company where she served in the customer service department. Shortly after retirement she accepted another job as grandma to Brian and Aaron who were truly her pride and joy.
Louise was an exceptional seamstress and loved to needlepoint and knit. Holidays were filled with her divinity, fudge and beautifully knitted Christmas stockings.
Trailer camping adventures were a large part of Ben and Louise’s life, and summers were spent at Deer Valley Park, Lake of the Ozarks boating and enjoying campfires with their many Deer Valley friends.
Retirement years were spent traveling to the warmer climates of either Loughlin, Nevada or Texas where their lifelong friends would gather.
Louise always looked forward to the Horn Family reunion at Big Lake in Missouri and loved spending time with her brothers and sisters and their children.
She is survived by her husband of over 70 years (Ben Richard), her daughter Denise Lou (Chris) and her grandson (Aaron Benjamin). She was proceeded in death by her grandson (Brian Christopher).
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Claycomo Community Center (28 Drake St, Kansas City, 64119) on Sunday, January 16 at 2pm.

I am so very sad. I’ve been a part of the Williams family for over forty years. I have so many wonderful memories. From trips to the Lake, Omaha, family gatherings, and many many visits on Riley Street. Rest In Peace Louise. Love, Anita
I am so sorry to hear of Louise’s death. My brother Rodney and his wife are planning to be at the funeral service. Louise was my mother Eileen’s half sister. We got to see her a few years ago in Omaha. I have some really nice pictures of that gathering. Our family used to go to Kansas City for visits witch were always fun for me. I also got to enjoy meeting at some of the Big Lake Family Horn Reunions. It was always one of the highlights for me. Grandpa Walter Horn always asked us never to forget to meet every year for our family reunions. I currently live in Chantilly, Va. just outside of Wash., DC.. My husband and I have four children, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. The family just keeps on expanding. I am the daughter of Eileen. Louise rest in peace. So, so, sorry to learn of Louise’s death. We had many fun time with her ( and Ben) at Deer Vally Park. Much laughter, campfires, shared meals, card games, and swinging on their glider. Many memories. Rest In Peace, Louise.
