Frances Culley Roe, beloved mother, passed away May 13, 2022 at age 90 in Columbia, Missouri. She was born June 22, 1931 in Carbon Hill, Alabama.
Fran moved to Sedalia, Missouri with family as a teen ager and graduated from Smith Cotton High School. She lived there until she moved to Columbia where she worked for a sorority house at Stephens College until retirement. Fran loved people and befriended everyone she met.
Preceded in death by her father John Britt Rice and mother Earlene Jeffress Schaberg. She is survived by daughter Laura Lee Doane of Baltimore, MD and grandson Brandon Leith Roe of Washington DC. A graveside service will be held in Sedalia at a later date.
Donations in her memory can be made to Columbia Second Chance Animal Rescue.
I’m thankful to have had the opportunity to know Fran and to be her friend. I extend my most sincere condolences to Laura and family.
