David Matlock

David Matlock, 38, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away in the comfort of his own home on May 24, 2022, from cancer.

Mr. Matlock was born June 24, 1984, in Overland Park, Kansas. David grew up in Overland Park where he was surrounded by family and friends. David graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 2001. He was an avid Sporting Kansas City fan, going to as many matches as he could. He also enjoyed going to KC Royals’ games with his brother. David was exceptionally skilled in disc golf; you could find him and his friends at Rosedale Park often. He also enjoyed playing when he traveled. David loved immersing himself in music and film. He would often recite any lyric and fact about the songs, musicians and artists. David also loved cats and was a proud dad to three. David made many friends in life and kept them close.

David was preceded in death by his father, William Kirk Matlock; Grandpa, Allen Eugene Burch; Grandma, Verna Dean Burch; Grandpa, Charles William Matlock and Aunt, Kelly Ann Matlock.

David is survived by his mother, Brenda Burch; Brother, Jeffrey Matlock; Sister, Leslie (Ryan) Chamberlain and Girlfriend Jane Opsahl.
