Cristi Rose

Cristi Rose, age 51, of Merriam, KS passed away May 31, 2022 peacefully in her home after a fierce battle with ovarian cancer. Remembrance Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Englewood Church, 10628 E Winner Rd, Independence, MO 64052. Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Cristi always said she did not get everything she wanted in life, but received everything she really wanted in life… a wonderful marriage, a good relationship with her children, and a strong faith. Cristi was an accomplished singer, writer, and storyteller. She loved children and worked in childcare for many years. She was an excellent teacher and taught her love of art, foraging, and singing to those around her. In her younger life, Cristi considered herself to have a black thumb. She refused to accept this and became an avid gardener. She approached everything in life with tenacity and wit. At age 5, she walked into kindergarten and declared, “I’m weird, just like my Dad.” Her faith, determination, and humor directed her course throughout her life. Let us all remember her sassy tongue, wild hair, and stubborn heart.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Deborah Wallen. Survivors include her father Jimmie Wallen, Husband of 34 years Aaron Rose, 4 children: Rebekah (Kenan) Canales, J. Rose, Zachariah (Sophia) Rose, and Catherine (Taylor) Callen. As well as 5 grandchildren: Tristen, Kaiden, Emily, Willow, and Piper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Cristi’s Kids, an organization founded in her honor to help kids fight cancer with Art Therapy. They may be sent c/o Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown MO 64113.

Loved her spirit and heart .. she was always positive and handled everything with grace love and in front of it all her love for God the father and for Jesus and led by the Spirit . While others were trying to strengthen her she was spilling out her strength on them in a way no one else could. Selfless lady like her mama Deb.
? miss her spirit of love…

Cristi was an amazing person. She was determined, courageous, lovely, strong, and witty, but most of all she loved Jesus. She continued to compare herself to the goats she loved.
I always enjoyed our conversation. When I see a goat or dandelion I will always think of her.
Praying for comfort that comes from the Holy Spirit for you her family.

A very kind and gracious lady with many talents that left us way too early. I will always remember her beautifully designed and meticulously hand Christmas bulb decorations that she graciously gave away.
