  8. Thomas Shields Jr. (Judith's eldest son) on September 29, 2026 at 8:36 am

My mother was the very essence of a modern woman with “a history” living the best life she could. While she was always well liked, she was often spoken about in a less than honorable way behind her back. She was summarily known in sowing circles as “Junkyard Judy” by her brothers and sisters and many of their children. Never to her face of course.
I mention it here as a testimony to the complex and unseemly nature that is common in the society of some families.
Even those who present themselves as morally upright, if not Christians, are often the curators of such back biting behaviors.
In this light, the truth of a person’s life can be measured by contrast and seen clearly.
Judith never held this subtle kind of betrayal against those who perpetrated such heathenism.
Demonstrating a spirit that is superior to the “self righteous” mindset that stoops to such uncouth practices.
In this simple way, it is her toleration that displayed a moral high ground.
Our Lord taught, that in that day of judgement, all will give an account. Even for the idle words they used.
