Sue Alyce Manning Funk, of Overland Park, KS passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held from 2:00pm – 4:00pm, October 22, 2022 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd Raytown, Missouri.
Sue was a dedicated nurse, working at Olathe Medical Center from 1975 until her retirement at age 81 in 2019. She also traveled the world on medical missionary trips. Sue was an adventurer, going on many scuba diving trips all over the Caribbean.
Sue was preceded in death by her father, Raymond “Mike” Manning; mother Myrtle Senior Manning and brothers Gene Manning, Bill Manning and Ron Manning.
Survivors include: daughters, Laura Oakheart and Elizabeth Funk Force; son, Michael Funk; grandchildren, Nicholette Kruger, Tyler Funk, Brittany Funk, Michael Force, Katherine Force, and Daniel Force; and great-grandchildren, Lane Kruger, Brayden Kruger and Lyanna Force.
I am honored to have had Sue as my sister in law,
Sue was at OMC for my entire career. She never turned down a task asked of her. A hard worker, great colleague, Sue was always dependable. Prayers to her family for God’s comfort.
Worked with Sue for many years at OMC she was such a great nurse and willing to help whenever she could.
I’m so sorry. What an amazing wonderful lady. She was always so good to me at OMC. Hugs and love to her family.
Sue was always their when we needed her from1977 when our daughter was born until I retired in 2013.
Sue had a special sense of humor. I enjoyed seeing her at OMC. She was an excellent nurse. She will be missed.
She was a one of a kind and will be missed!!
I had only been a nurse for three years when I came to OMC. I remember Sue as a great mentor, fellow nurse and friends..she will be remembered for her incredible longevity at OMC!!..RIP Sue, your shift is over..
Condolences to the family of Sue. She was a great Nurse and coworker. I will miss her. Not many like her. She was a wonderful mentor to me. You are in God’s arms now.
She was a great nurse and a hard working compassionate person. My prayers to her family and friends.

Sue was such a wonderful Christian to be around in any situation! She is missed already. Her joy and humor were contagious. Her beautiful children, grandchildren and great grandchildren can carry on these traits and loving character, but we will miss Sue until we see her again!
Hi Elizabeth, John often mentions your mom going on the same Casa missions trip to Mexico that He and our son Phillip went on. They all had such a good time.
Your mom was always a joy to see and spend time with. We will be out of state and will miss her gathering.

Sue was at Olathe Med the entire time I worked there. She was the epitome of a nurse–always willing to help, caring, and professional. It was always a better day when she was working. Prayers for the family.
So sad to hear of Sue’s passing. She was always a ray of sunshine and a wonderful nurse. Had many good times at OMC. We joked when I retired in 2018 that she was still going to be there.

So sorry for lateness of condolences but just became aware of her going home. Truly I thought she would live until Jesus came back to take us all home.
While working with Sue at OMC we built a beautiful relationship as Sisters in the Lord. Encouraging and being encouraged, supporting and be supported in the good, hard and bad times. Laughing, crying, disagreeing and rejoicing together for all those years. I for one will never ever forget my awesome friend and sister in Christ I was blessed to met. We always said no goodbyes but see ya later, knowing we would see each other in heaven. I’ll see you soon and forever will be rejoicing!
