Paul Warren Gravelle

Warren Paul Gravelle, known his whole life as Paul, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 at the age of 67 at his home in Kansas City, MO.

Paul was born June 25, 1955 to Warren and Mary (Costa) Gravelle, the first of their four children. He spent his early life in Chico, California surrounded by his grandparents, cousins, and siblings. He attended Notre Dame Catholic School in Chico and later graduated from San Luis Obispo Senior High School where his family had moved. After graduation, Paul worked for Safeway grocery stores for many years. Eventually Paul moved to Kansas City to work and live. He met and married Shirley, who was a loving partner and caregiver to Paul before he passed from cancer. His life in retirement with Shirley was filled with family — he enjoyed being a Chiefs fan and traveling to Oregon with Shirley to visit his mother and step-father.

Paul is survived by his wife Shirley; his beloved mother Mary Theiss and step-father William Theiss; his siblings, Martin Gravelle, Eric Gravelle, and Ann Hardesty; step-brothers Edward Theiss, Tony Theiss, and Steve Theiss; step-sons Tommy Sieker and Johnny Sieker; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and step-family. He was predeceased by his father Warren G. Gravelle.
