Shirley-Maria Herron, departed this life on Friday, September 15, 2023. She was born August 16, 1956 in Nuremberg, Germany to William and Maria Combs. Due to her father’s military service, Shirly was educated in Grafenwohr, Germany, Munich Germany, Ludwigsburg, Germany and Fort Ord, California before finishing her education in Kansas City, Missouri. Shirley worked for the Kansas City Water Department as well as a cashier at a grocery store.
In her early 20’s, Shirley married Barry Freeman, Sr., and had one son Barry Freeman, Jr. In her late 20’s, Shirley married Ricardo Herron and had another son William Herron. Shirley-Maria enjoyed cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, spending time with family, watching game shows, and rooting for the Chiefs on Sundays.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother William K. Combs.
Shirley-Maria leaves to cherish her memory, her two sons Barry Freeman and wife Taleah and William Herron and wife Michelle; siblings Cynthia Breidenbach and Sharon Combs; grandchildren Randen Brown, Trayvon Herron, Davon Freeman, Braylon Freeman, Kanaan Herron, and Kyraan Herron; one niece Alexandra Gleason and a host a cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be 2pm, Saturday, October 7, 2023 followed by a Celebration of Life at 3pm, at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri 64133.
