Ivory Joe Thompson Sr.

Ivory Joe Thompson Sr., AKA (Smokey), age 72, of Independence Missouri entered God’s Kingdom on October 17th, 2023. He was born in Pierce Texas to Robert and Myrtle Thompson on August 10th, 1951.

Ivory was the 4th of 10 children. Ivory had rededicated his life to Christ.
He was employed by Polytainer’s in Lee’s Summit where he was a maintenance technician for the last 6 years.

Ivory loved spending time outside manicuring the lawn, working on this truck, and helping the neighbors. He also enjoyed doing volunteer work helping the community. Ivory was always there for friends, family, and neighbors.

Ivory was an exceptionally amazing man who accepted people for who they were and made friends easily. He was a loving father, stepfather, and papa. The littles made him light up like the Sun. He would do anything in his power for them.

Ivory was preceded in death by his father, Robert Thompson Sr.; mother, Myrtle Thompson; son, Ivory Joe Thompson Jr.; brothers, David Thompson and Ray Henderson; sisters, Alice Bayler, Edna Coleman, Mary Hargrove, Eliose Thompson, and Zula Thompson.

Ivory leaves to cherish his memory his life companion, Connie Galloway; brother, Robert Thompson Jr.; sister Elaine Bluntson; his children, Alicia Thompson, Jovan Black, and Jordon Black; stepchildren, Mike Woods, Christopher (Hali) Fair, Samuel (Kim) Pence, and Schondra Fair; grandchildren Demeatrice, Adrian, Demarquis, Aron, Kelvin, Jordon Jr, Jackson, Jameson, Morgan, Connor, DJ, Damion, and Michael; twelve great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
