Micah Shane Pattison

MICAH SHANE PATTISON
1979-2023

Micah Shane Pattison, 44, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on October 17, 2023, in his hometown. Born on September 9, 1979, in Kansas City, Missouri to Beth (Rowley) & Michael Pattison, Micah was a beloved husband, father, brother, and son. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of kindness and love.

Micah found himself distinguished from the rest rather early on in life. His complex and genius-level mind allowed him to become proficient in any skill or craft he chose. His interests ranged the gambit, varying from Mechanical Works & Automation Control to singing Oldies tunes and sketching portraits in pencil. Micah was a seeker of knowledge, enjoying both the learning aspect and the teaching. Many evenings were spent tutoring in calculus, where he himself did not use nor need scrap paper to solve equations. A kind and sweet-natured man, Micah took great pleasure in his quick wit and sense of humor, often being the “champion” of any and all rival banter he may encounter. Making others laugh was a favorite pastime for Micah. A jovial man, he could often be heard belting out oldies tunes while going throughout his day. Micah was happiest when surrounded by those he loved and adored. He was especially fond of cats and had several throughout his life, including Noodle and Murphy Pattison, who were called home before him.

Micah is survived by his wife, Marilyn Pattison, his children James Pattison (Tori Randal), Keira and Nolan Pattison (Kaley Klinkenberg), step children Nicolas Weaver & Maranda Adriano, his brother Justin Pattison (Samantha), and his brothers Jackson and Colter Pattison. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, and several nieces and a nephew. Micah was preceded in death by his mother, Beth Pattison (Rowley), his father, Michael Dean Pattison, his paternal grandparents Elaine and Jim Pattison, and maternal Grandparents Esther & Arthur Carlson.

Micah’s educational journey led him to the KU School of Engineering, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He received the outstanding academic achievement award in 2010. Micah’s career was marked by success and growth. In 2018, he became a project manager at Tyson Foods, showcasing his exceptional skills and leadership. In 2019, Micah transitioned into a Controls Engineer role, further excelling in his field.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Micah had a passion for slow dancing and was a creator at heart. He had the ability to master any hobby he chose, including drawing, wood working, and gardening. Micah also enjoyed writing lists and letters, finding solace in prose. He had a deep love for watching KU Basketball, cheering on his favorite team.
