Jackie “Jack” Leo Tracy, of Independence, Missouri, passed away at Centerpoint Medical Center on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at the age of 85. He was born July 17, 1938, in Missouri City, Missouri to Clarence and Mildred (Holloway) Tracy.
After attending Richmond High School, Jack married Beth Richardson, of Knoxville, Missouri. They were married for 65 years. Together, they had four children: Sheryl, Shelly, Kelly, and Mike.
Jack supported his family working as a printer for Percy Kent Bag Co. for over 40 years. He loved to spend time tinkering in his workshop where he handmade furniture, signs, and yard decorations. You could find his creativity displayed around the house or on the road when they went camping, where his yard art was always the center of conversation. He loved to hook a fish, pull a prank, or tell a good joke. Jack also enjoyed restoring cars, lawnmowers, campers, and anything mechanical and found joy in giving his projects away to someone in need or to enjoy.
Jack was preceded in death by his sister Betty Zumwalt; daughters Sheryl Cobb and Kelly Downs; and grandson Evan Tracy. He is survived by his wife Beth Tracy; daughter Shelly Krysa (Frank); and son Mike Tracy (Sarah); grandchildren Ryan and Owen Cobb; Frankie and Dalton Krysa; Peyton and Shelby Downs; and Jack and Ella Tracy; seven great grandchildren; and brothers Rick Tracy; Clarence “Pudie” Tracy (Marsha); and sons-in-law Les Cobb and Bill Downs, along with extended family and friends.
Per Jack’s wishes, there will be no memorial service held.
