Wilma Pauline Brown

Wilma Pauline Brown (88) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on November 30, 2023.

She was born May 18, 1935, in Octavia, Oklahoma to Walter and Arlie (Weatherbee) Snitker. Her family moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she attended Manual Vocational High School. She was married to James Roger Brown on June 6, 1954, at Temple Baptist Church in Kansas City. They were happily married for 65 wonderful years.

Wilma was a successful business owner and longtime real estate agent with ReeceNichols until her retirement in 2020. Selling real estate was her passion and she was well known for her dedication to clients. Wilma was a long-time member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Lee’s Summit where she enjoyed serving her community. She enjoyed traveling with Roger and spending time with her family. They were both faithful members of the First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit for many years.

In addition to both of her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Gravatt, and one infant brother, Walter Snitker, Jr.

Wilma is survived by her daughter, Joy Brumble; son, David Brown; grandchildren, Sean Brumble (Robyn), Joshua Brumble (MaryLynn), Rachael Taylor (Brent), Meghan Brumble, Amanda Brown, Colby Brown, and Jake Brown (Bri); great-grandchildren, Tyler (Meredith), Sage, Zoey, Cash, Ellie, Gabrielle, Jaiden, Scarlett, Audrey, and Hanna; and one great-great-grandchild, Mila. Also surviving is her sister, Juanita Maggard (John); brothers, Dr. Gaylord Snitker (Sandy) and Dwight Snitker (Evelyn); and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Wilma will be interred at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri where she longed to be reunited next to her beloved Roger. Graveside services will be attended by family members on Thursday, December 14th , 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
