Burel also known as B.J. was born in Waverly, MO. on July 18th 1946. B.J. resided in Kansas City, KS. for most of his life where he was married to his loving wife Linda Chapman and had three children together. Burel J. Chapman III, Raychel Delap, and Mandy Lopez, always known as his Sugar Bear, 5 grand kids and 7 great grandkids. They were married for 54 years and he showed his love and devotion to his family and especially his wife. His dedication of showing how much he loved her was an inspiration to everyone to watch the beauty of growing old together and taking care of each other in sickness and in health. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He leaves behind his wife, his two daughters, 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. His love for his grandchildren was evident in every moment he spent together with them as he cherished long lasting memories. His love, laughter, and advice touched all that he knew with stories shared with wisdom freely given and he filled our hearts with joy. He would do almost anything he could to help out anyone who asked. He was very engaged with his neighbors and watched over them also as any good friend would. He worked as a meat cutter for over 50 years. He started at the age of 15 years old. He was a master griller and smoker and was excited to see his Children and grandkids learn his grilling and smoking traits that he had passed along to them through the years. He was very proud of them all.
May his laughter and memories stay forever in our hearts. He will be deeply missed.
My heart goes out to your family. The loss has been so great. Our condolences and prayers. I’m just so sorry for all of you.
Truly Sorry for your loss, the tribute for him is beautiful ? the love he had for all! And how much he was loved ? is so awesome! I met Raychel when I was 14 now 52. Met BJ and Linda shortly after, what I remember from way back when, was the extreme amount of love, patience, humor, you all had for each other. Love you all. Thoughts and prayers ? ? ?? for peace and healing until you meet again! God bless ?
Scott an I will miss you so much, B.J. I have loved you from the moment Linda brought you home to meet us all. You both were so young and in love. I thought you were so handsome, looking like Paul Newman! I never let you forget that didn’t I. You were always so friendly and kind to so many people. I know you are happy and healthy, now being with those dear to you that you have loved and are gone. God bless you and keep you until we all meet again.
BJ, you were a great neighbor, and most of all, a great friend! We had a lot of laughs, and learned a lot about each other! You helped me out more than I can ever thank you, for while I was gone on the road! You were always there when I needed a hand and always happy to help! I have a lot of memories of you, that I will never forget! Rest easy BJ! I’ll see you again, when I get there! Godspeed buddy!
