Edward Anthony Martin, 66, of Raytown, MO passed away January 21, 2024 at Lee’s Summit, MO from esophageal cancer.
Memorial services will be held at 11am, Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Crossroads United Methodist Church, Belton, MO. A second memorial service will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11 am at Eastside Christian Church, Council Bluffs, IA. Inurnment at Hazel Dell Cemetery.
Edward was born February 25, 1957 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He graduated from Underwood High School class of 1975. He also graduated Iowa Western Community College class of 1977. He worked as a computer program and most recently a school bus driver for Raytown School. He was married to Kendra (Lippert) for 41 years and they had two daughters. Edward enjoyed music, movies, cruising and other travel. He was active in the Celebration of Life Choir in Council Bluffs, Iowa and River City Theater Organ Society, Omaha, NE. Edward was also an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where he was baptised as an infant. In his adult years he participated in music and worship at Crossroads Christian Center and more recently Eastside Christian Church both in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He played the organ, sang in the choir and participated in the bell choir at Crossroads Methodist Church, Belton, MO. Ed loved participating in Bible study and visiting with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by: mother, Beverly (Hansen) Martin; in-laws, Jacob and Winifred Lippert; all grandparents; brothers-in-law, Alan Biebendorf and Jimmy Neuman.
Survivors include: wife, Kendra Martin of Raytown, MO; daughters, Chirstina (Kiri) Martin and Rebekah “Becky” Martin both of Raytown, MO; father, Alfred Levi Martin of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Nancy Biebendorf of Smithville, TN and Julie (Jim) Pezdirtz of Elbert, CO; sisters-in-law, Janet Newman of Council Bluffs, IA and Donna (Paul) Carr of Independence, MO;and brother-in-law ,James (Patrice) Lippert of Omaha, NE; and a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and other relatives and friends.
