Jill Lynette Buxton, 41, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away tragically in a car accident on December 28, 2022. She was born May 29, 1981 to Stephen and Linda in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a 1999 graduate of Fort Osage High School and lived most of her life in the Kansas City area. She was an avid reader and photographer, winning contests for her photos. She was a great lover of astronomy, and loved to cook and bake. Simply put Jill loved the finer things in life.
Jill was a very giving and generous person, not only of her time but of her resources as well. She would light up a room when she entered it and she was so loved by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by grandparents Juanita and James Buxton; Doris and Mason Davis; aunts Joy Green and Rose Sanders; and uncles James P. Buxton and Patrick Sugg.
Jill is survived by her parents Stephen and Linda Buxton; daughter Kylie Wilson; boyfriend David Trowbridge; uncle James Davis and wife, Marsha; and aunts Deborah Buxton, Dorothy Steffan and Deloris Buxton, along with numerous cousins.
Visitation will be 2:30pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:30pm, Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Country Meadows Baptist Church, 4901 Lee’s Summit Rd, Kansas City, Missouri 64136.

My deepest condolences. It’s so hard to understand why God calls certain angels home so young. Jill left this earthly globe so young and yet I know she was really loved by David, David ‘s sons and her family.
Carrie Samuelson says
Funny jokes, Gaither songs, photography, lover of animals, and just one who genuinely cared about others. These things we have in common as friends. Jilly will be missed. My deepest sympathy and sincerest condolences to her family. May God comfort you in this time.

Anyone that knew you knew that you are a genuine person always. You never changed and you had a smile that lit up the room. I think that what I adore about you the most is the fact that no matter how you were feeling you wanted everyone else to be good. I’ve never known someone who can bring so much light and love to room. You will forever be loved by a lot of people. I’m sure there are some that you don’t even know your beautiful soul impacted. Rest in heaven now my friend. And may God keep his arms wrapped around your family always.

Jill was my aunt. Not blood but she was my aunt. I am David Trowbridges niece. The time I knew her she took me in and I felt cared for by her. When she came to paintball for my birthday but didn’t really play a lot. When she painted with me. The long talks we had together about womanhood. She loved me for who I was and what I kept pushing for. We would talk about softball all the time. Reflect on the memories of being in the softball community. She was an angel and I am so angry by the way she was taken from us. She’s all in our minds, hearts and souls. We love you Jillian Buxton. Always will. ??

Jill made you fell like an old friend from the time she met you. She truly cared about the people she knew. Her photography was amazing. I told her once that it didn’t matter what kind of equipment you have, you have to have the talent of finding the right thing to shoot, and she had that. She will be missed by more then she ever imagined. The world lost a truly amazing person.

My beautiful and amazing friend I miss you so much already, but I know you are still here in all the memories we had. I will miss all of our silly talks and debates we had just trying to prove each other wrong. You were a light in my life through some of my darkest moments. You had some of the best hugs when I cried and always managed to make me laugh anyway. You were one of my best friends and will always be in my heart. I love you so much Bean. Until we meet again know you are always in my heart.
Crystal Miller says
You are one person who was always so pure, genuine, and honest! Thank u for being you and you touched MANY lives. Forever remembered and always missed!
Andrea Pope says
You and me girl have been friends technically since 5th grade, we won’t talk about how long ago that was! Besties then and you know life and growing up and everything put a gap between us! But I know there was never a minute in our hearts we didn’t think about each other! We were the silliest teenage girls and had so much fun together! I am so so thankful I got to be your friend and be ourselves together! I will continue to think of you just like every other day! To me your not gone your still right there thinking of me like I think of you! Plus the bonus I have another person looking out for me from above! I will miss our little catch ups every once in awhile! But that beautiful smiling face will always be in my thoughts to help me remember you not that I could forget! I love you and know we will be laughing, giggling and joking around again some day! Heck we will get the old gang all back together and go skating at B & D. Fly high my beautiful friend! Mom and Dad thank you for letting me be apart of the amazing life you and your daughter have!
Linda Buxton says
To those of you that have left a message for and about Jill, thank you. It means so much to her Dad and I to read how she touched everyone’s lives and the memories of her. She was such a treasure.
I thank God everyday for the 41 years he was gracious enough to give her to us.
She will be forever in our hearts and minds until we see her again.
We love and miss you so very much Jilly.
