Duane LeRoy Bassett, 83, Blythedale, Missouri passed away May 3, 2017 at the Kansas City VA Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the Blythedale Community Center, East State HWY N, Blythedale, MO 64426.
Duane was born January 12, 1934 in Arnold, Nebraska. He was raised in Arnold, Nebraska and served our country in the Army during the Korean War. He will be remembered for his love being outdoors and working on the farm.
He was preceded in death by; son, Dennis Bassett; parents, Percy & Dixie B (Zierlein) Bassett; sister, Mildred Maxine Joedeman; sister, Merle Faye Wrinkle and brother, W. “Harold” Bassett. Survivors include; daughter, Nicole Bassett, Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Norma Jean Bassett, Sultan, Washington; sister, Carolyn Eberly, Hesperia, California; granddaughter, Mary Beth Collins and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

I am sorry for your loss. It was nice to spend time with him last fall in Texas. I remember him making me laugh while I drove him and Grandma around Texas.

Hey Nicole. So sorry for your loss. Uncle Duane was always one of my favorite uncles growing up. I always loved trucks. He was the one who got me interested in driving trucks. Will look forward to seeing you here in Nebraska.
