The Broken Chain
We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly; in death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
I love you so much Dad!

Yes, I was a young boy with my family vacation when I walked my Dad and saw you chat with deaf friends in ASL each other. I saw a young face of Merle! We occasionally met and saw each other since I was a teen boy. I never forget him.

My brother will be very much missed. He has suffered so long I feel he is now at peace in the hands of God. He is with my husband Ken arguing over whose the best football team for Ken liked the Cowboys and Merle an avid Chiefs fan.
We all have so many good memories of Merle. We will keep those memories with us to remind ourselfs of Merle. May he rest in peace . Love you my dear little brother.
Pastor Mark Truitt says
Merle will certainly be missed in the Evergreen Community. As pastor of Deaf Liberty Baptist Church in Overland Park, Kansas, I lead a Bible study with the Deaf/Hoh residents every week on Monday mornings. I could always count on Merle to be there with a smile and often he would insist on praying. I loved those moments. Thank you to the family for sharing him with us and we will continue to pray for your family.
Shane Dundas says
Such a nice gentleman! Always smiling and having good time at the WAD pool games. If I come back home (Wichita) to visit, it’ll will not be the same without him.
