Virginia Lorene Murray, 88, of Shirkey Nursing Home, Richmond, Missouri passed away September 24, 2018 at Shirkey Nursing Home from dementia. Visitation will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, September 29, 2018 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd Raytown, MO 64113. Funeral services will be at 10:00am on Saturday, September 30, 2018 at Heartland Cremation& Burial Society 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd Raytown, MO 64113. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 30, 2018 at Floral Hills Cemetery 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133. Mrs. Murray was born September 15, 1930 in Leadwood, Missouri. Virginia was a talented beautician for 31 years all while being a loving mother to four children. She was a dedicated wife of 41 years to her husband, the late Berna D. Murray. Virginia volunteered her time at Truman East Medical Center and was very active in her church,
Plaza Heights, for many years. She also worked at HyVee for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband Berna D. Murray, parents William and Eva Groves, son Bernie Murray, two brothers and three sisters.Survivors include daughters Sharon (Denny) Gaskins, Diane (Dave) Crawford, and Carol (Ross) Benson, daughter-in-law Terry Murray, grandchildren; Scott (Sabrina) Gaskins, Holli Gaskins, Brent (Annie) Murray, Tiffany (Andy) Crowther, Britney (Joel) Fortner, Heather Mayabb, Lindsey Crawford, Josh Cantwell, Addison Benson, and Austin Benson, 9 great grandchildren, brothers Tom Groves and Larry Groves, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Shirkey hospice and palliative care.
