Anthony “AJ” James

James Anthony “AJ” 73, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away February 17, 2022 at Rosewood Health & Rehab.  Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 PM, Friday February 25, 2022 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri 64133.  A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 PM at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society. Anthony “AJ” James was a die-hard Chiefs fan and shared the love of the game with his children. He LOVED movies and had an extensive movie collection that included every VHS and DVD you could think of. He also had a love for music and loved singing and dancing to his favorite songs.

He was born February 8, 1949 in Kansas City, Kansas to William Henry James and Phylis Jean (Grant) James.  “AJ” is preceded in death by: his parents; grandchildren, An’Janique Wright, Ja’braughn James and nephew, Darnell James.  Survivors include: children, Anthony James, Dante James (Y ‘Lonn “Nikki”) Derek James, Craig Dotson (Jessica), Randall Mitchell
Antonique James, Brandon Worland (Roeshia), Krystle Mattox, Kara Mattox, and Kody James; sister, Antrina Mansaw (Steve); brother; Adrain James; niece, Angelita Williams; nephews, Raymond Williams and Dominick James; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; former wives, Deborah Christwell, Phyllis Sergeant, and Vickie Mattox.
