AJ (Alan) Worsfold

AJ (Alan) Worsfold, 58, Overland Park, KS died peacefully at his home Wednesday, September 12, 2012 after a long illness with cancer.  Visitation will be held 1-2PM, Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Heritage United Methodist Church, 12850 Quivira Rd, Overland Park, KS.  Funeral services will follow at 2PM at the church.
AJ graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a degree in electrical engineering.  He spent his entire 36 year career at Black and Veatch, where he began as a draftsman and work his way all the way to Project Procurement Manager.  His career took him overseas for 8 years, working in Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Bangladesh.
AJ was born and raised in Kansas City, MO to Jerry & Gladys Worsfold.  AJ was very proud and delighted in his family.  Survivors include: beloved wife, Kenda (Marcucci) Worsfold; sister, Jerilyn Main; five precious children, Linda Wibbenmeyer, Christy Wilson, Brandy Worsfold, Arik Worsfold, and Lauren Marcucci; and grandchildren, Amber Paxton, and Royce & Brennon Wibbenmeyer.
AJ was passionate and knowledgeable about all things mechanical and automotive, was a fine craftsman and a dedicated Mizzou alumnus.  AJ cherished his friends and his family extends their deep appreciation to all who called, visited and wrote during the past ten months.

    I was saddend to learn of A.J. passing. He worked with me on several projects at Black & Veatch, most notably the Jeffry Energy Center project for KPL. A.J. was a valuable member of our design team and a friend. He will be missed.

    I truely sorry to hear of AJ’s passing. I worked with him on a couple of projects at Black & Veatch, and he was always straight forward and honest in his dealings. He had a great attitude and always helpful to me and those he worked with.

    I worked with Al many years ago at Thom McAn. Great guy… many great shoe store memories. He worked very hard to support his young family. Last I knew, he was living in Belton. I had no idea that he was now living in Overland Park…. I would have loved to connect with him. Very sorry to hear that he passed away at such a young age.
