Alfareta Marie (Kirby) Thompson born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 27, 1938 passed away in Kansas City, Missouri on November 25, 2016. She married John Ross Thompson on December 14, 1957.
She was a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandma, great grandma, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her father John Leslie Kirby and mother Mildred Lucille (Ellis) Kirby, brother Norman King, sister Lena Loughlin, grandson Jack Andrew Crowe, granddaughter Cheyanna Marie Lynne Boonstra, great grandson Maximo Barrera.
She leaves behind husband John Ross Thompson and sister Georgia Louise DeForst. 4 children; Mary Lynn Brown, Donald and Marsha Thompson, Joan and Rick Evans, and Joyce and David Boonstra. As well as 16 grandchildren; Davita and Joe Haynes, Matt and Yiliam Brown, Jacque Clemens, Joey Clemens, Taylor and Israel Barrera, Donald Thompson, Shante Kilpatrick, Sabrina Spear, Cecil and Tina Evans, John and Chrissi Evans, Emily and Matt Howerton, Natasha Evans, Danielle Thompson, and David Boonstra Jr., and 16 great grandchildren; Jacob, Alyssa, William, Kaleb, Jonas, Rylee, Wyatt, Serenity, Antonio, Isabella, Destiny, Mystic, Maggy, Jaidyn, Emma Lee, and Reagan and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Joplin First Church of Nazarene at 2124 Utica St, Joplin, Missouri 64801 or to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Memorial service will be held at Joplin First Church of Nazarene on December 3, 2016 at 12:00pm with Celebration of Life to follow.
