It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Alofaifo Savea Visesio, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully on November 2, 2024, at the age of 70, after a courageous battle with liver disease.
Alofaifo was born on March 22, 1954, in Safa’atoa, Samoa, to his parents, Visesio Paletaoga and Fuatino Pomate Elena Tualatamalelagi Kelekolio.
He moved to the United States at 26, where he spoke little English and met his first wife, Kim. Together, they had two daughters, Amber and Miriama. Shortly after Amber was born, Alofaifo served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1986.
While still in service, he met his second wife in Missouri, Losa Lole, and they married on May 17, 1985. Together, they shared 37 years of marriage until her passing, raising three children: one son, AJ, and two daughters, Fuatino and Dianne.
Alofaifo and Losa shared countless cherished moments over the years. They took annual road trips, bonded over kung fu movies and classic westerns, and enjoyed monthly dinners at La Fuente Mexican Restaurant. Even the simple ritual of taking out the trash became something they did together, a small but meaningful part of their routine. Through both life’s joys and challenges, they created a lifetime of memories side by side.
Alofaifo will be remembered for his hard work, generosity, love and support for his family, and unique sense of style that his children often teased him about. He never missed a day without his coffee, enjoyed repairing vehicles, and loved riding his motorcycle on sunny days.
While studying at Faith Bible College, together with Losa, he started and served as a pastor at Family in Christ Ministries under The First Samoan Congregational Christian Church in Independence, Missouri.
He later graduated with a Master in Theology and Biblical Studies from Faith Bible College. After over 15 years, he transitioned out of the ministry and continued his lifelong work as a mechanic, eventually retiring as a diesel mechanic at Freightliner.
After Losa’s passing in 2022, Alofaifo found comfort in traveling and playing bingo with his girlfriend, Vera, who lovingly cared for him until he was taken home to be with The Lord.
His late wife, Losa Visesio, will be laid to rest with Alofaifo, honoring their shared wish to be together.
Alofaifo will be dearly missed and forever remembered!
