Alyce Mae Elliott, 77, of Kansas City, MO, passed away May 13, 2011. A visitation will be held 10 AM with a funeral service following at 11 AM, Friday May 20th at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd Raytown, MO. Grave side service will 2 PM May 20th at Iola Cemetery, Iola, KS. Alyce is survived by her husband of 51 years Richard, sons Steve and Don, and grandchildren Shari and Sean. Her parents; Marcella and Everett “Shep” Shepherd, who was Police Chief of Iola, KS for 35 years and her aunt Alice O’Hara preceded her in death. She was a 1951 graduate of Iola, KS High School. She was a long time supporter of the UMW and volunteered at Shepherd’s Center until Alyce herself needed that help. She enjoyed yard work and bird watching. Memorial contributions can be made to the Blue Ridge United Methodist Church Building Fund. (Arr. Heartland Cremation & Burial Society 816-313-1677)
