Amber Marie Anderson, 54, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on January 20, 2025, at her home. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 802 NW Vesper Street, Blue Springs, Missouri.
Amber was born on July 16, 1970, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Richard and Sandra Anderson. She was raised in a loving home where she excelled academically and socially. A dedicated student, Amber consistently earned top grades and was actively involved in her school’s drill team, debate club, gymnastics, and honor roll.
Following high school, she attended the University of St. Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Psychology. At 24, Amber met the love of her life, Patrick Ray Jr., and the two married on March 17, 1997. Though she did not have children of her own, Amber embraced the role of a mother figure to her niece and nephew, raising them with unwavering love and devotion. She cherished Mason, Liam, and Kamillya, ensuring they always had love, support, and guidance.
Amber was known for her kind heart, intelligence, and selflessness. She faced life’s challenges with incredible strength, including the heartbreaking loss of her husband in 2022 due to COVID and her mother just five months later. Despite these hardships, she persevered with resilience and grace.
Amber will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Anderson; mother, Sandra Anderson; and beloved husband, Patrick Ray Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Megan Anderson; nieces and nephews, Brooklyn Anderson, Mariah Cook and her partner Justin, Shane Cook, Mason Oswald, Liam Oswald, and other extended family members.
Amber’s legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
