Andrew B. McAllister

Andrew Bernard McAllister, 45, of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at his home with family, after a two year battle against cancer.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Andy was born May 23, 1969 in Jefferson City, the son of Paul E. McAllister and Carol J. Huhman, both of Columbia.  He was married to Leslie Ann McGuire, of Kansas City, on May 24, 1997 in Columbia.

He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Missouri.  Andy’s professional career in computing began after graduation, working at the School of Medicine, Office of Research, UM System and MU Information Technology and ended in 2012 due to illness.

Andy will be remembered by friends for his kindness, wit, and determination to follow his sense of what is right.  He is survived by his wife Leslie, daughter Audrey Wren, his parents, stepmother Carol and many loving relatives, friends, and golf buddies.

Special thanks to the staff at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center for their kind, compassionate care and assistance during his treatments.
