Anna Louise (Gunkel) Campbell passed away on March 26, 2021. Anna was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 20, 1929. At the age of two, her parents moved to Dayton, Ohio where she resided with her husband and children until moving to Overland Park, Kansas in 1968. Anna and her husband were graduates of Patterson Cooperative High School in Dayton, Ohio. Anna worked at the Printing Industries Association of Kansas City with her husband until their retirement in 1994. She was a member of the Overland Park Lutheran Church where she served as President of the church Council. She was President of the Women’s Board of the Church and volunteered in many other church ministries. Anna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whose love for others extended far beyond those she was related to. Her talent for storytelling and excitement for sharing her family history with others attest to the special place that they held in her heart. The love that she had for her faith and her family inspired all those around her.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Fred & Anna Gunkel and her husband Raymond J. Campbell and son Scott Campbell. Survivors include her daughter Pam Shrider, son & daughter-in-law Kurt & Gemma Campbell. Her grandchildren: Adam and Natalie Shrider, Trent Shrider, Jessica and Nick Russell, Hillary Campbell, Natalie Campbell, Ryan Campbell, Lisa Smith. Her great-grandchildren: Benjamin Shrider, Kennedy and Theodore Russell, Andrew Cottrell, Skylar Vandebrink.
A memorial service will be held at Overland Park Lutheran Church on April 8 at 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Overland Park Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
