Annette Slaybaugh-Newman, 44, Independence, MO passed away May 30, 2011 at St. Luke’s Medical Center on the Plaza. Funeral services will be held 7 PM, Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Heartland Cremation 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO 64133. Visitation will precede the service from 6-7 on Thursday. Annette was born March 14, 1967 in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Raytown High School in 1985, and completed cosmetology school through the Joe Herndon School of Cosmetology. She worked as a hair stylist, and owned “The Hairport” in Independence for a few years. She enjoyed camping, float trips, celebrating the Halloween holiday, crafts, fishing, gardening, reading, going to concerts, especially Aerosmith, but she mostly enjoyed time with her family, her husband Mark, and young daughter Isabella Grace. Annette is survived by her husband Mark Newman, daughter Isabella Grace Newman, mother Gloria Daniels and her husband Craig, all of the Kansas City metro area. Also surviving Annette is her father David Slaybaugh and his wife Antonia of Kindred, ND, and a countless number of loving friends and clients. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to The Isabella Grace Newman College Fund, C/o Bank of The West, 4610 S. Noland Rd., Independence, MO 64055, ATTN: Lea Carey.

Nette, We miss you soo much already, but I know you are not in anymore pain. We love you more than words can express. We know that you will be watching over us. The world feels a little darker without you and your smiling face around. We will be here for Mark and Bella, anytime or place they needs us. Mark I am deeply sorry for your loss, I can’t understand how you feel, losing someone so close and special to you. I just want you and Bella to know that we love you guys, and no matter what happenes we will always be here for the both of you. We love you all, and Nette thank you for being one of the best friends I have ever had.
Annette had such a warm, caring and mellow personality. We had known her approx. 20 years and she will be sincerely missed.
David and Antonia, I just want to tell you how sorry I am on the loss of your daughter. My heart goes out to you and to her husband and daughter. I always remember how Auntie Gyla was so proud of her. In my thoughts and prayers! Love, Ginger
