Anthony D Osborn

Anthony D Osborn, 54, of Shawnee, KS passed away May 30, 2022, at home. Memorial services will be held from 4pm – 8pm, Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the Culinary Center of Kansas City, Overland Park, KS.

Anthony was born June 30, 1967, in Kansas City, MO to Jerry D Osborn and Martha Chaney Johnson. Anthony graduated from Clinton Senior High School, Clinton, MO in 1985. He attended Southwest Missouri State University. Anthony personified the term, “Zest for Life”. He never, ever, met a stranger and loved everyone. Lighting up a room with his fun-loving personality, sense of humor, smile, and infectious laugh, was second nature to him.

Much of Anthony’s adult life was spent working in the food service industry where he made many of his lifelong friends. He was a loving husband, son, brother, and uncle. Anthony will be missed by all of his aunts, uncles, cousins, step-brothers and sisters, step-nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends.

He was preceded in death by: grandparents, Roma D and Alta Osborn and V.A. and Orel Chaney; and step-father, Joe C. Johnson, Jr.

Survivors include: husband, Brent Grider; father, Jerry D Osborn and his wife, Linda; mother, Martha Johnson; brother, Matt Osborn and his wife, Carla; and nephew, Landon Osborn.

Because of his love for toys and his hobby of collecting, donations to the Toys for Tots in his name would make him extremely happy. If you plan to attend the Celebration of Life and want to bring a toy, please do. Any photos or memories you have to share, we will gladly include in his memory book.

Anthony, you will never be forgotten!

Anthony was a ray of sunshine in every life he touched! We were friends from very young and all the way through high school. We used to play at the country club by the pool when we were small. We would drape towels over the round tables to make forts…where we played with our toys! His love for Barbies goes way back!! ? Thank you for always being you Anthony, and for teaching everyone around you to be true to themselves!! You will be loved and missed until we come together again in heaven my friend! Fly high!! Hug my dad for me!! My condolences and love to Brent, Matt, Martha, Jerry, and all who loved & cherished him!! You were a bright light and your flame was extinguished much too soon!!

Anthony – such a sweet soul. When my family lived in Minnesota, we would always stop to see Aunt Alta in Clinton, MO on our way to Missouri.
Anthony would be there spending the night with his grandma & oh what fun we had visiting .He loved my kids & they always asked if Anthony would be there?
Love you cousin – hope you are having a reunion with Bud ?

We are church friends of Jerry and Linda. It was not that long ago that Jerry was explaining Anthony’s personality in lighting up a room and never meeting a stranger. He apparently accepted everyone as they are without judgment. We need more people to live and love this way. God bless and comfort friends and family. – Bob & Marilyn Helvey, Louisville

I grew up with Anthony as my neighbor but he was infinitely more than a neighbor. He was a bonus older brother that unbeknownst to him, taught me so much about humanity that has served me well as I have pursued endeavors outside of the small town zip code we became connected in. This hits home, I think more than I even realize. You were always a beacon of light Anthony, even though I’m sure you were dealing with inner struggles like we all endure whatever the nature of those struggles may have been. Unlike so many others, I have nothing but fond memories of you and am so thankful for that. The only negative I have now is that Matt is the only one left!!! ?.

    Martha, Jerry, & Matt,

So many memories from when we were kids, hide and seek in the neighborhood, all the trips to the cabin at Pomme De Terre. You and Jerry were my second set of parents and Matt and Anthony my brothers. We did almost everything together. I am so sorry for your loss, and will keep you all in my prayers.

    Love you guys,
