Arthur J. “Butch” Henderson

Arthur James “Butch” Henderson Jr. passed away, February 20, 2018.   He was born August 20, 1953 to the union of Maxine Elizabeth and Arthur J. Henderson Sr.
Butch, as he was nicknamed, was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents and 2 nephews.
He lived in Kansas City his entire life and was educated at Blessed Sacament grade school and later graduated from Lillis High School.  As a teen he was known as an avid dresser and worked at the movie theater next to the old K.M.B.C. News Station, as an usher.  He had a passion for hot rod cars, which he owned a few.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served most of his time overseas during the Persian Gulf Conflicts.
Butch enjoyed skating, shooting pool and raising several kinds of fish in his aquariums.  He was employed at the Kansas City, Missouri School District as a painter for several years. He also worked at the Sprint Center Campus.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his 2 children; a son Muneer Henderson and daughter Evette “Kizzy” Moore, several grandchildren, a sister Bernadette (Tyrone Haynes) Henderson, 2 brothers, Anthony (Tequela) Henderson and Ejuan “Skip” (Marla) Henderson, two aunts Doris Jackson and Lena Brewster and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.  Military graveside services will be held 9:00 AM, Friday, March 2, 2018 at Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Road, Leavenworth, KS 66048.
