Audley L. O’Dell

Audley L. O’Dell, age 88, of Independence, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018. He was born August 4, 1930 in Avondale, Missouri.

He graduated from College High School in Warrensburg, MO in 1948 and completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from UMKC in 1961. He celebrated his sixty-ninth wedding anniversary with his high school sweetheart, Linda, in October. Together they founded O’Dell Tractor which would become a 50 year long business in Independence. A life long Methodist he was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church of Independence. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ray O’Dell and LeVona (Crawford) Harris, sister Louellla Sibert, and brothers Bill O’Dell and Richard O’Dell.

He is survived by his wife Linda, and children Steve O’Dell, Mindy Shields (Mel), Scott O’Dell (Julie), and Audi O’Dell, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
