Augusta “Gay” Grace Reddell passed away September 7, 2020.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00pm on September 18, 2020 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd Raytown, MO. There will be a visitation held prior to the service at 2:00pm.
Augusta was born on March 26, 1948 to Ralph and Floy Reed. She had many jobs throughout her life. Gay went to beauty school and also worked as a switchboard operator. She retired from Grandview Manor working as a LPN. Gay had two sons, Andrew and Matthew whom she loved dearly. She loved to help people, was caring, loving and had a sense of humor. She had a big place in her heart for her dog, Cujo.
She was proceeded in death by: sons, Andrew and Matthew Reddell; mother, Floy Reed; and father, Ralph Reed.
Survivors include: sister, Beverly Whiteaker; niece “daughter”, Brittany Maynard; nieces and nephews, Darrell Whiteaker, Christina Whiteaker, Christopher Whiteaker; “grandchildren”, Jaden Maynard, Skyler Maynard, Braden Maynard; best friend “sister”, Joyce Morgan; and a host of friends and family.

She touched our lives! We started visiting “Nursey” Augusta in Summer of 2019 and we bonded immediately! She and I were very similar in a lot of ways. She was a flaming redhead! What a beautiful person! My children really enjoyed the time we spent with her. And she had a special bond with my dog Brinley! Im sorry we lost contact when she moved from one home to another. We miss you. And we love you!
Gay was a wonderful, kind, giving, & caring person. She made me laugh & told wonderful stories. I feel so fortunate to have known her & grateful to have had her as a friend.
