BARBARA ALICE WRIGHT ALLEN
Barbara Alice Wright Allen, 68, Lexington, MO passed away June 4, 2008 at home. Graveside services will be held 11:30 AM, Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Lexington, MO. Memorial contributions should be sent to The Lafayette County Cancer Coalition POB 88 Higginsville, MO 64037 or The Nature Conservancy, or Audubon. Please send no flowers. Barbara was born January 24, 1940 in St. Louis, MO. She is a graduate of Lexington High School, Lexington MO. Barbara attended 2 yr Business College in Kansas City, MO. She was a Legal Secretary in Kansas City MO, Little Rock and Pine Bluff, AR and Memphis, TN. 1975 she took over the Allen family business, Arkansas Travel Agency of Pine Bluff and after many years sold and retired to Lexington, MO following her husband’s death. She was a member of the Delta Airlines Survivor’s Retirees Club, and was a long time supporter of The Nature Conservancy, and Audubon. She is preceded in death by; parents, Guy & Ethel (Burnett) Wright; and husband, Frank Ray Allen. Survivors include; brother, Guy Gordon Wright; sister, Brenda Joy Wright; sister in law, Jeanene Wright; nieces, Marsha Sharp, Peggy Oswalt, Lee Ann Wright, Melissa Wright; newphew, Mark Wright; lifelong friend, Carol Allen; and beloved little dog, Bobby. My deepest sympathies are with you all for the loss of Barbara. However, I am certain there is a nest of young birds just waiting to take wing in her honor. Next time they fly over, you can know they are with her and there for her.
