Barb was an amazing, loving women, my neighbor and friend for years and so wonderful to both of my children Jamey and Ashley, especially Jamey. She was so giving to others. I’d really like to get in touch with Jon and/or Dana if possible.

Barbara was a special lady. My thoughts are with the family left behind. Dale was a special friend to my husband, Bob, & they spent a lot of time together in Scouts. If Dana or Jon would give me a call or an e-mail with an address, Bob’s sons, Patrick & Bill would love to be able to send him a card. Pat’s time spent in Scouts with his Dad & Dale are special memories. Prayers for all of you. Jeannie Simmons

Although I had not seen Barb for a while, I always thought of her as one of the sweetest people I ever knew.

My husband and I are both very sorry for your loss. We will keep your family in our prayers.

    Susan

Barbara will be missed by all. Our whole family have great memories of the Boy Scout Days growing up. Dale had all the boys & Dad’s and Barbara had all the Mom’s.
Our prayers are with all of you!

I remember Mrs. Abernathy, while I was a student at Rock Bridge High School. She was always a warm and caring person, greeting everyone who walked into the Counseling Center as a dear friend. For a brief time my family even lived in the same neighborhood as Mrs. Abernathy and my younger sister became friends with Dana. Mrs. Abernathy cared about all of “her kids” as she put it, when we were all at RBHS. Her son Jeff was a classmate, and when he passed away so suddenly, she comforted all of us. She was so touched when we all wore gold ribbons on our graduation robes in honor of Jeff on our graduation day. Learning of her passing is truly like losing a family member. My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Abernathy, Dana and Jon.
