Betty E. Page, 85, of Olathe, KS, passed away May 29, 2009 at her home after a battle with cancer. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 1, 2009 at Liberty Christian Life Center, 572 E. Park St., Olathe, KS. Mrs. Page was born June 9, 1923 in Byers, OK. During Betty’s lifetime she and her husband lived in the western United States before settling in Kansas City, MO, in 1962. She worked as a Master Waitress at the original Smoke Stack BBQ restaurant for over 30 years. She instilled her work ethic in her children and grandchildren and anyone else who had sense enough to listen to her wisdom. She didn’t allow her children to whine about life, and believed work was the cure for boredom. She lived her last ten years very independently at Liberty Christian Life Center in Olathe, KS, where she also attended church. She was a wise and loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Betty will be greatly missed by her family and friends at the Life Center especially the “rubi-cube girls.” She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard Page, as well as her parents, brothers, and sisters. Survivors include three daughters and two sons: Mary Coxen of Springfield, OR, Myra Anderson of Norman, OK, Richard Page (Mary), Michael Page (Betsy) all of Kansas City, MO, and Cinda Young (Alexander) of Olathe, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Olathe Medical Center Hospice. The family would like to offer special thanks to Diana, Shelly, Anita, and Sandy.
