Beverly was born on February 9, 1944, in Joplin, Missouri to Vestal and Janet Wilson. She had one brother, Gary Wilson, whom she dearly loved. Beverly grew up in Raytown, Missouri and graduated from Raytown High School. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Central Missouri State University, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. Beverly’s life was a testament to her faith, her passion for education, desire to serve others, and love for her family and friends. She made a meaningful impact during her 31-year career as an elementary teacher in the Independence School District, where she inspired a love of learning to many generations of students.
Beverly’s commitment to education extended beyond the classroom. She co-authored a history book for elementary children and served as a Community Presenter with Up with Parents/Up with Character Development, sharing her knowledge and passion with others. After retiring from 31 years of teaching, she continued to make a difference as a homebound teacher and Educational Coordinator at Drumm Farm. Beverly loved to volunteer and was named Volunteer of the Year at Hillcrest Ministries.
Her love for people transitioned her into working for 14 years as the Director of Volunteer Services at The Groves/One Community Hospice. She ended her career as a Certified Grandma in 2023 with the Blue Springs School District, where she spent 3 years in the Cub Care Preschool. Beverly held babies and shared her love of books by having classes come to her for story time.
Her spiritual life included First Baptist Church of Raytown as a child, a member of First Baptist Church of Independence, Woods Chapel Methodist, Sycamore Hills Baptist, and the last 7 years at First Baptist Church of Blue Springs. Her faith guided her actions and inspired her to live a life of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and two husbands, Lee Marriott and Thomas Christopher. Beverly and Lee shared 29 years of marriage and a beautiful family before his death in 1993. She was blessed to marry Thomas Christopher in 1997. They lived in Independence until 2019 before moving to Blue Springs, Missouri. Beverly and Tom were married 24 years before his death in 2022.
Beverly’s legacy is one of service. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Marcie Marriott; son, Brent Marriott (Darla); granddaughters, Emily Woodring (Maxx) and Ally Marriott (Emmanuel); grandson, Grant Marriott; great-grandson, Ace Jonah Vázquez; 2 sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and 3 nieces that always made her smile.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 2nd, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Blue Springs. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. The service can be viewed online during that time at live.fbcbluesprings.org.

A very special Lady! I meet her At The Groves! 💜
We are so sorry to hear of Bev’s passing. What a dear, sweet lady she was, with such a servant-heart. I (Mary) have many fond memories of spending lots of time at their house while growing up, as I was close friends with Marcie. Bev was always a warm and generous host, with tremendous patience as she endured our juvenile antics! She will be greatly missed. We will keep her family in our prayers during this difficult time of mourning, but we will grieve with hope because we know she has been received into heaven by her Saviour and has also been reunited with her loved ones there!
