Bobbie Kincade

Bobbie Kincade entered the arms of Jesus on June 5, 2026.

Roberta (Bobbie) Mary Kincade was born July 16, 1950 in St. Louis, Mo to R. Howard Backer and Theresa Shaw Backer.  She attended St. Alphonsus (The Rock) High School and Forest Park Community College.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters: Theresa Lauer, Donna Schiber and Genevieve Sullivan.  Bobbie is survived by her loving husband, Brett, of 44 years and her daughter, Heidi (David) Fields and her grandchildren: Michael (Andrew) Harmon-Fields, Katelyn (Michael) Turnley, Joshua Fields and great granddaughter, Charlotte; her brothers Michael (Ethel) Backer and John Backer and sisters Patricia Harrell, Kathy McGinnity and Julie (Dale) Pikoraitis.

Bobbie lived her life in service to others and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Women’s Network, Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus and the Gideons.

Her career included the University of Missouri Department of Training and Development, Lenoir Retirement Community Director, House of Brokers Realtor and Associate Executive Director of the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri.

She was a volunteer at Love Columbia and Know Hope for Women in Columbia, Mo.

Bobbie was an active member of Christian Chapel (C2) Church for 40+ years serving as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday school teacher, youth sponsor, church board member and CCA board member.

Bobbie’s favorite scripture was Proverbs 17:22, “A merry heart does good like a medicine.”

Bobbie loved fishing, dancing, shopping and sports but her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her friends and family, especially her grandkids.  She loved every band and choir concert, every school musical and every sporting event and was often the loudest in the stands. She was most excited to spend time with her great grandbaby, Charlotte Joy.

Bobbie was a friend to many and wanted everyone she met to feel loved and seen. She loved the trips to Branson with Brett and friends and loved riding “It’s a small world” at Disney with her son in law. She loved sitting on her deck watching the birds with Brett and enjoying walks with him at Stephens Lake or Cosmo Park.

Fighting cancer was not in her plan but somehow she made it joyful everywhere she went.  Her legacy will live on in the lives of so many who knew and loved her.  Her last days were spent on the oncology floor of Siteman Cancer at Barnes Jewish Hospital where her laughter could be heard throughout the halls.  It was her purpose and pleasure to share the Gospel through her actions and words and the joy of the Lord gave her that strength.

A Celebration of Life service will be held July 3, 2026 at 3 pm at  C2 Church 3300 S. Providence Road, Columbia, Mo 65203.

I will miss her so much but look forward to being with her and Jesus someday. She was a mother in our church. And her friends and family truly rise up and call her blessed. Columbia Missouri and her family at Christian Chapel suffer her loss. But oh we were blessed to have had her! We will continue to pray for her family as we all grieve forward. ❤️‍🩹
