Bonnie J. Vanskike

Bonnie J. Vanskike, 91 of Gladstone, MO passed away September 9, 2022.

A memorial service will be held in her daughter’s home on Saturday, September 17 at 3pm. Contact Daughter, Meredith for details.

Ms. Vanskike grew up in Moberly, MO. She left home at the young age of 17 and traveled to New York City by train, to pursue her dream of becoming a Broadway Star. Mom was very adventurous but knew it was best to finish school first, so she came back home to finish school and graduate. After graduation she moved to St. Louis, MO in the 1950’s. After a few years in St. Louis she moved to Los Angeles, California. There she met her husband and gave birth to a wonderful daughter. In 1977 they moved to Gladstone, MO. Bonnie worked for the United States Postal Service and retired in 2001.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Marie Vanskike, husband, Alois Toenjes and her brother, Donald Vanskike.

Survivors of Bonnie include: her daughter, Meredith McLaughlin, daughter-in law, Sarena Olson, grandchildren, Antoinette Olson, Alanna Olson, Blake Olson, Alyssa Olson, great-grandchildren, Isabella, Eliena, Paisley, Makinley and Adalaide, brother, Alfred Vanskike Jr. and his wife Cheryl and many nieces & nephews, great and great-great as well.
