Boyd Wilsom

Boyd Lee Wilson born in Kansas City on June 29, 1937, left this world for a better place on Friday, April 13, 2007. Boyd was the son of Ralph & Maxine Wilson and lived his entire life in Independence, MO. He was a beloved father to four children, son Bruce and wife Elaine of Peculiar MO; daughter Pam Wilson of Overland Park, KS; son Daniel and wife Beverly Wilson of Independence, MO; daughter Michelle Bird and husband Daniel of Olathe, KS, and beloved grandson Alex Wilson. He also is survived by his brother Robert and his wife Pat Wilson, as well as his friends Frances and Bob Phillips. After 44 years Boyd retired from the Union Pacific after outliving both the Rock Island and Cotton Belt Railroads. In retirement Boyd became the Regional Vice President of Meals on Wheels in Independence. His hobbies included traveling with his son and grandson across America to ride steam engines. He was an avid fan of Southern Gospel Music. He attended Life Pointe Church of Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be held at the Worship Center, 6305 W. 159th Street, Overland Park, KS, on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 9:30am with the service to follow at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to Independence Meals on Wheels, 409 N. Liberty, Independence, MO 64050.
