Bridgette Yvette Metoyer

Bridgette Yvette Metoyer, 58, of Kansas City Mo, passed away Sept. 20that St. Joseph Medical Center after a long illness. All services will be held at St. Regis Catholic Church, 8941 James A Reed Rd., Kansas City Mo. on Thurs, October 4th. Bridgette was cremated but there will be a visitation from 5:00 to 6:00PM to pay your respects with a funeral Mass following at 6:00PM. There will be no burial service.

Bridgette was born June 3rd, 1960 in Kansas City, Mo. where she remained a lifelong resident. She was a baptized Roman Catholic and attended Mass and services at many Churches. She attended Annunciation grade school and graduated from Bishop Lillis High School in 1979. Bridgette held a variety of different jobs in the service industry. She was an avid Royals fan and also enjoyed watching the Chiefs. She was a beautiful person with a loving heart and it was rare not to see a smile on her face. Bridgette was always willing to share whatever she had and spent much of her free time visiting and helping the elderly. She also enjoyed, cooking (and talking about it), reading, writing, playing cards, bingo, doing puzzles and talking on the phone.

Bridgette was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Sr. and Octavia (Alpough) Metoyer; brothers Louis Jr., Larry, Terry and Donald Metoyer; sisters Grace and Gina Metoyer; nephew John K. Metoyer and brother-in-law Larry Hamilton. She is survived by brothers Gregory Metoyer, John Metoyer (Ann), K. C., Mo and Martin Metoyer (Angela), Smithville, Mo; sisters Rosalie Wahlen, Independence, Mo., Carolyn Hamilton, Mountain Top, Pa., and Babette Lathrop (Tim), Raytown Mo.; sister-in-law Anita Metoyer, K. C., Ks. and many nieces and nephews.

    Bridgette was such a sweet soul and she will be greatly missed. I had the pleasure of meeting her when she was coming to Don Bosco; she was always positive and willing to help others even when she didn’t feel her best. Rest In Peace Bridgette and prayers to the family.
