Bruce Edward Reed

Bruce Edward Reed, 71, of Kansas City Missouri passed peacefully in his sleep May 26, 2024 in Wellsville, Kansas. A visitation will be held at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, June 3, 2024 at 11:00am immediately followed by a graveside memorial service and burial with full honors at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery @ 1:30pm.

Bruce was born June 13, 1952 in Clarinda Iowa to Hazel Maxine West Reed and William Edward Reed. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1971. He married Evelyn Sue Reed and they had three kids Amy Reed McClellan, Benjamin Reed, and Christopher Reed. Bruce joined the Army where he was stationed in Fort Leavenworth, Fort Bragg, Fort Leonard Wood, Fort Riley, and Germany. After an Honorable discharge Bruce pursued a career in truck driving where he enjoyed the open road. He also enjoyed attending church, singing, baseball games, motorcycle rides and family. He later moved to New York and lived there several years and married Gloria Reed. He moved back to Kansas City after the passing of Gloria in 2014.

He is preceded in death by his son Christopher Reed, his father William Reed, his mother Hazel West Reed, his Wife Gloria Reed, and his Son Benjamin Reed. Survivors include daughter Amy Reed McClellan, son-in-law Patrick McClellan, granddaughters Jessie McClellan, Ailie McClellan, Moyra Reed, Abigail Reed, Rachel Reed, grandsons Isaiah Reed, and Daniel Reed, Sister Bennette Reed Dibben, Brother John Reed and several nieces and nephews.
