Candy’s surviving family include her son Terry Hickey, daughters Paula Hickey, Roxanne Myers, and Dawn Alexander and grandchildren Coral Jeffries, Kelly Chadwick, Lori Tulifua, Michaela Ward, and Christopher Copeland as well as 9 great grandchildren and a large extended family. Candy loved being around family and celebrating special occasions with them. She had a big heart and loved everyone. She was a long time member of the Evangelistic Center Church of Kansas City. She helped many people over the years, even taking in people from the Salvation Army at times into her home to live. Angel was one Mexican young man she took in who could not speak English. He lived there a few years and by the time he left he could speak English and had learned the scriptures. He went on to be a pastor of his own church in northeast Kansas City.
Candy talked about her favorite person, Jesus of Nazareth, to everyone who would lend an ear. She cared about everyone and always shared what she had. She was a woman who loved God, was full of faith and a mother to many.
Visitation will be 9:30-11:00 AM Saturday, April 15, 2017, with a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Heartland, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, Mo 64133. Burial will follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery.
