Carl Bennett, 78, Raytown, Mo., born October 29, 1930, and passed away May 8, 2009. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, at Gospel Fellowship, 13011 Grandview Road, Grandview, Mo. Carl graduated from East High School in 1949. He served in the Navy and was a Korean War veteran. He retired from Safeway after 32 years. He was an avid bowler and loving father and grandfather who leaves behind five children: Vicki and Dave Shewmaker, Randy and Debi Bennett, Kelly Dull, Mike Bennett, and Andy and Karen Talley; sister Betty Newell of Arkansas; 11 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
