Carlie Elizabeth Greenwood

Carlie Elizabeth Greenwood came into this world with a smile on her face on June 9, 1999 to Charisma Lo and Henry (Hank) Greenwood in Overland Park, KS. She passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021 at St. Luke’s North Hospital surrounded by family. Carlie showed the world from day one what a bright, energetic and loving person she was, bringing endless joy to her parents and family.

Possessing a curious and spontaneous spirit, Carlie enjoyed jumping headfirst into many activities in her youth including volleyball, dance, gymnastics, and cheerleading. She excelled at those activities which suited her strength and boundless energy, yet always sought the next adventure and hill to climb.

An early interest in becoming a doctor blossomed into a life-long pursuit of caring for others. While attending Blue Valley West High School, she enrolled in the CAPS Medical Program to begin her medical education. In the years following graduation, Carlie accepted an opportunity in the medical field as a certified nursing assistant at Overland Park Regional Hospital and worked during the COVID pandemic. The long hours and challenging environment only served to further fuel her interest in nursing, prompting her to begin pursuing a nursing degree at Johnson County Community College. Carlie was working fulltime as a Healthcare Recruiter at Krucial Staffing while continuing her education.

Carlie will be forever missed by her mother Charisma Lo, father Hank Greenwood, sister Chayne Greenwood, grandparents Sue Lo and Len Sacks (deceased), Peter and Judy Lo, Beth and Henry Greenwood, aunts and uncles Dr. Asia Lo and Mark Bowerman, Trent and Sandra Lo, Charles Greenwood, Johnnie Sullivan, Hope and Johnny Harrison, David and Dawn Greenwood along with her numerous cousins, Dylan and Jackson Bowerman, Ryla and Dade Lo, Ashley Greenwood, Steven and Dustin Wade, CJ and Kyle Harrison, Josh Greenwood, her extended family, many friends, and Carlie’s beloved cat, Scarlet.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Church of the Resurrection, 5009 W 137th St, Leawood, KS 66224 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm with the Celebration of Carlie’s Life immediately following from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. Carlie’s Poem?

Your whispers woven in the breeze
Your love laced in the sun‘s rays with ease

Wherever we go you are near
There is no longer anything to fear

Your strength surrounds us from each mountain top
Your energy ethereal as it lingers in every ocean drop

No matter where we are
You are never far

So this is not goodbye
As your eternal spirit dazzles in the night sky
