Carol Chapman Irwin, of Westwood Hills, KS passed away at her home January 6, with her children by her side. Memorial Services will be 11:00AM Monday, January 13 at Old Mission United Methodist CHurch at Shawnee Mission and Mission Road Parkway. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association, 2007 Broadway, KCMO 64108.
Carol was born December 24, 1925 in Madison, WI. She lived in Westwood Hills for 43 years. She toughed the lives of many and her humor and wit will be remembered, especially for her famous “Nuts and Bolts” which will be greatly missed by family and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her husband M.J. Irwin. She is survived by son Dan Irwin of San Francisco, CA; daughter Judy Hockensmith of VIrginia Beach, VA; sisters Jean Chapman Born of Berkley, CA, Joan Vieth of Mauston, WI, Joyce Parminter of Madison, WI. Grandchildren Erik, Ryan, and Kyle Hockensmith all of Virginia Beach, VA. Niece Kenan Houston, and wonderful friend Kaye Hord.
