I look at her picture and I had to pause for a moment.. It reminded me of her when she showed me how to drive for the first time, or when we went to the store and she’d cruise down the Fe for a minute so I could see if any of my friends were out cruising, Or when I got my first job, my first real job anyway, along with my first apparent?) That dad n her cosigned for?) She was there’ for my first nursing class… That I was so nervous about. I guess my message is to Carol and dad, to Carol… ThankYou for showing me the way, but mostly, for believing in me and willing to stick around until I was able to succeed… To dad, thank you for putting up with me through all the crap ,and thank you for giving up all though years and time,b4 the wreck?( So that all of us meaning the world could have here devoted time. Most of all, thank you for being there when she needed you the most ??. I will never forget ever…… God Bless You Both ??? love Nellie

Sweet Carolina. I will never forget our trip to Colorado and the fun we had! One of my most fond memories of you was how much you cared for the people at Good Sam. They couldn’t have had a better advocate and caretaker! I just marveled at you compassion and care for them. You will be greatly missed, but I know you’re free from pain and sorrow in Heaven above. I don’t think you’re walking, I’m sure you’re flying!
    Love you,
    Sharon

Also remembering the good times at Good Sam on Park Street. Carol taught me how to be the CNA I could be. To use compassion in every thing I did. Such a valuable person and a great loss. RIP

Carol was the one you could tell the truth. She usually knew how it was with you anyway. She was the best BS detector ever. I believe She is back to her old skills and mobility. I will mis her.

I just heard today about aunt Carol passing away. We were really close when i was a little kid but after her accident a few years ago we just kinda drifted apart. I remember seeing her cruise past my house on her way to work in her red mustang gt. I waited outside for her every day to drive by just so she would rev it up for me. I’ve missed her so much over the last few years always talking about her wanting her to meet my son but never got the chance! I love you aunt Carol i know your flying high with my dad ( your big brother ) in heaven talking about anything and everything. Probably mostly cars! Your free from pain now our sweet angel! Rest in piece!

    Dear friends of Carol Asbery:

The Celebration of Carol’s life will be held at the YMCA
on south Lone Elm road in Olathe, from 2:00 – 4:00pm on Sunday, May 26.

I remember one morning when Dayna and carol were still working at Good Sam near Olathe Med Center. As we drove down the street toward Good Sam, a maroon colored Mustang GT ROARED past us, and I knew it had to be Carol! I called out “There goes the WINNER!”

We noticed that, after the accident changed her life, we never once saw her show any self pity.

In the words of Marshall Tucker Band, Carol, Ride In Peace, my friend. Ride in Peace.

Carol Ann, I love you so much girl. I know I wasn’t the best at showing it, but I hope you just knew. Very few people will ever touch my life quite the way you did. You taught me how to be an MA, you were so patient with me and willing to take the time to teach me things, even if it took me 3 or 4 times to actually get it right. I often wondered back then (before I come to really know you)…”who is this woman that is being so patient while training me, back at MMS? When everyone else wanted to give up on me, you never did Carol Ann. But I gave up on you, that is…stopped visiting and coming around after the wreck. For that sweet Caroline, I’m so very sorry. Please know that I never stopped loving you or thinking about you, and I definitely never stopped appreciating what a wonderful person and friend you were to me. I guess I always thought we’d have more time. I’ll never forget how much we laughed at MMS. I’ll never forget how you came by my apartment to check on me after my surgery in 2010. You always made time for everybody. You are one of the most compassionate and amazing friends I’ve ever had the honor to know. I love you to the moon and back Carol Ann, and I’ll never ever forget you girl.
