She was born on July 9, 1938 in Prairie Home, Missouri to John Schnuck and Mary Kendrick. Carolyn grew up on the family farm in Prairie Home and knew the value of hard work; to never give up and to persevere.

After graduating High School she became a CNA at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, Missouri and it was in Marshall that she met the love of her life, John.

Carolyn and John started their married life in Kansas City and she was a stay at home mom for many years. She could garden, can vegetables, sew, bake, cook, clean, play softball and could find a way to get done whatever it was that needed done.

As her children grew, she returned to the work force. For a number of years she was at the Jackson County Election Board in Independence and then for a short time as an insurance clerk for an ophthalmologist.

In her later years she continued to garden and loved to be outside on the patio, often putting together a new pot and plant usually adding her own little twist or touch to it.
She loved her children, grands and greats and was always willing to do or help anyway she was able.

She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, aunt, cousin, friend and neighbor and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Carolyn is survived by her 3 children: Johnny and wife Trisha Pygman – Raymore, Missouri, Sonya and husband Billy Schmitz – Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Donna and husband Jim Jones – Pleasant Hill, Missouri, in addition to her 9 wonderful grandchildren and 7 delightful great-grandchildren. As well as some very special nieces and nephews.
