Caryl Applegate, 71, Independence, MO, passed away July 4, 2013 at her home.  A graveside service is planned for 11 AM, Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Oak Ridge Memorial Gardens in Independence, MO.  Caryl was born Sept. 4, 1941 in Nevada, MO to Cecil and Jane Schwenck, both precede her in death.  Caryl worked for The Salvajor Company for more than 30 years, as the director of finance. Her spare time was lovingly spent with family.  Caryl is survived by her son Marty Applegate, daughter Melissa Applegate-Gift, son-in-law Ronald Gift, grandchildren; Terry Gift, Matthew Gift, Amber Johnston, Matt Johnston, great-grandchildren; Connor Gift, Nevaeh Hoock, and Quentin Hoock.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are asked to any hospice organization.

    So sorry to hear of Caryl’s passing. My mother and I were great friends with Caryl from Nevada. I worked with her at Dr. Pierce’s office. We had some great times.
