Catherine Baschke

Catherine (Cathy) Baschke, 63, a long time resident of Independence, Missouri passed away June 16, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her father Chris Highshoe.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years William (Bill) Baschke and son Mike Baschke of the home, daughter Billie Jo (B.J.) and husband Card Steward of Independence, Mo, grandchildren Miranda (Mo) Baschke and long time partner Daniel Francis of Independence, Mo and Billy Steward of Independence, Mo, great granddaughter Kennedy Francis, step daughter Cindy Cosgrove and grandchildren Kyleigh, Brycyn, and Aubree Cosgrove, her mother Myrtle Smith and friend Archie Arrick, sisters Joyce (Rick) Berry of Shirley, Ar and Kristy (Ken) Pruett or Arlington, Ks, brother Danny (Barbara) Highshoe of Hollister, Mo, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Cathy was a long time cancer survivor.

    I called her the “come back kid!” Just when you thought she was down and out she would come back stronger than ever. What a fighter she was.

    Cathy was a special gal we had lots of fun times at grandpa and grandma Hightshoe’s farm .. And in Polk City with family dinners and outings. She will be missed she put up a huge fight every step of the way. Rest In Peace know we are sending our hugs and love ?? Mary Lee

    My prayers and thoughts are with the family and friends,She’s truly a amazing beautiful women I was blessed to have her many years with her, many laughs ,many memories and blessed to have the chance to see and kiss you good bye,I will see you again one day.Until then plz watch over your loved one keep them safe..LOVE YOU AUN’T CATHY !!!

    Dixie Collins and family to the most amazing person I’ve ever met he was loved by many nieces and nephews me for one she was so kind-hearted she would help you with anything talk to you when you were down and make you feel better she fought cancer for a long time she never give up she got up and kept on going I am so glad I went to see her and she knew who I was and she told me I was trouble and I knew what she meant she will always be in my heart and my memories and I love you and I will see you on the other side

    my dear Aunt Cathy I know your singing with the angels cuz you definitely earned your wings I’ll never forget you it was a blessing that I got to be with you on your journey home no more suffering no more pain you definitely were fighter but you always was I’ll cherish every memory every moment we had together until we meet again on the other side love always your niece.
