Chanda passed away peacefully at home April 8th with family by her side. Chanda was preceded in death by her father Chancy Long, Brother Vincent Wentland and grand parents. She was born in Iberia, MO and lived in the KC Metro most of her life. Chanda was a very caring person and always thought of everyone else. Chanda is survived by her soul mate David Wendt, her 3 kids Chris, Nick and Chanci, Stepson Austin, mother, Kay Bowers of Eldon, MO., and 5 beautiful grand children.
She worked for the postal service for 26 years . Chanda really enjoyed her coworkers in the BMEU. An unexpected battle with cancer took her away from us all much too soon. Chanda had a big heart and a loving soul. Memorial Service at Heartland Cremation Chapel, Sunday May 17 from 2-4 pm. 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd. Raytown, Missouri. 64133
Chanda and I became instant friends the moment we found out our middle names were both “Jo.” She had so much love for her family and “My Dave” as she called him in BMAU. I will miss her smile and laugh. Gone too soon. Rest now Chanda.
Chanda and I went to high school together. A beautiful woman, gone too soon. My heart aches for her family.

Chanda and I met when we were around 14 years old. I am honored to call her my friend and grateful to have had such a wonderful, loving friend in my life for so long. Her infectious laughter made everyone around her laugh and fall in love with her. Many wonderful, crazy and fun filled memories will comfort me when I miss her. She was taken from us way too soon. My heart breaks for Dave and the rest of her family. I will see you again one glorious day! LYLAS. (love ya like a sis)
I worked with chanda at the p.o for many years. She always had a smile and was the best at decorating any jayhawks fan with our mizzou colors (Robert Berger) at their machine. She was taken away too soon. I love you sweetie I will truly miss you. My thoughts and prayers go out to Dave and her family.
Very sorry to hear of Chanda’s passing. Though I only knew her briefly, she was on my mind and I kept her in my prayers. Peace and condolences to the family.

So sad to go so early. We went to high school together & my sister Debbie. They were really good friends to the end. What a lovely smile and person. She will be surely missed by family & friends. Be at rest Chanda.
I knew Chanda for 26 years. She had a pure heart full of laughter. Even though I am a Jayhawker, she never held it against me. I will miss her. Dave, I know she loved you very much and please remember to lean on friends when you need to.
Though we’ll never know why she had to leave at such a young age, her journey with the Lord is just beginning; she is blessed. She’ll always be cherished and remembered by those who knew and loved her. God speed, Chanda.
I worked on the LSM’s (letter sorting machines) during the Postal Service’s heydays of the 80’s and 90s. We, on occasion, worked the same rotation on the same crew Tour 3. I remember her as a hard worker and a beautiful person, inside and out. I’m sure all who knew her will miss her. My deepest sympathies to David and the rest of her family.
You were always there for me. I felt like I could talk to you about anything. The thing I miss most is having you there to talk to. It seems like I was calling you every other day to discuss all the crap I had going on in my life. I miss you more then you will ever know, and I can’t wait to see you again and catch up on all the things I have wanted to tell you! Love you always Mom!
